"Did Jesus give them great sermons to preach, great meeting places to meet in, impressive advertising to draw the crowds, or enough money to cover all their expenses?

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. (NKJ)

I am more convinced now than I have ever been, that the end time outpouring of the Spirit of God and the end time harvest will be a demonstration of the Spirit and power of God, not men's words. It will not take a "learned" individual but an anointed person who walks and talks with the Holy Spirit. It will be simple communications, like Jesus used, and the results will be startling to our highly educated pulpit specialists, who are not functioning with the anointing of God.

John 2:1-11 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, "They have no wine." Jesus said to her, "Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever He says to you, do it." Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!" This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.(NKJ)

The very first sign Jesus did was done so simply. Most of us would have used the three-point method of 1) telling them what I was going to do and why 2) tell them as I did it 3) tell them what I had done, why I had done it, and what they should understand about the sign.

Jesus just said, "Fill the waterpots with water" and "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast."

The results of this demonstration of Power are found in "This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him."

The glory was manifested and individuals believed on Him. That is how it will be beginning now in the Kingdom of God. Jesus is our example and I want to show you how simple the "work" will be when you are functioning under the anointing.

Jesus sent His disciples out to minister with these words,

Matthew 10:5-14 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: "Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. "But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. "Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, "nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. "Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. "And when you go into a household, greet it. "If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. "And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. (NKJ)

Did Jesus give them great sermons to preach, great meeting places to meet in, impressive advertising to draw the crowds, or enough money to cover all their expenses?

No, He said "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received freely give. "Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, "nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. "Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out." The sermon was 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' The results came from the power of the anointing that Jesus gave them, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons." Simple instructions, powerful results that even surprised the disciples!

Again, Jesus did it simply and with power.

Please note, the preaching of the Word is necessary - to build our faith. What we are sharing today is the presentation of salvation to the lost. It should be simple and with Power, the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 9:27-30 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, "Son of David, have mercy on us!" And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you." And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, "See that no one knows it." (NKJ)

Again,

Mark 7:32-35 Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha," that is, "Be opened." Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. (NKJ)

And the best illustration I can think of is

John 11:38-45 Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, "Take away the stone." Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days." Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?" Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. "And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me." Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!" And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, and let him go." Then many of the Jews who had come to Mary, and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in Him. (NKJ)

"Lazarus, come forth!" were the words from Jesus but what power was demonstrated.

Here we have the basic truth we need to understand. It is not the words we know or speak, but it is the anointing that is upon us. The anointing comes by faith in Jesus and what He has provided for us. He has made it possible. We need to step forth; knowing that what Jesus did is ours because of His death, burial and resurrection.

We must understand - that Jesus "knew", we must believe. We must be prepared like our Lord and Savior. He spent many, many hours in prayer to be able to speak the Power in simple words and know that the words would produce the results He intended.

The results of our preparation and speaking forth under the Anointing will be souls into the Kingdom of God.
